Industry Interview in Military Information Technology with VP of Government Sales
Advantech Satellite Networks DVB-RCS VSAT systems have been deployed in theatre by the US Department of Defense in support of Global War on Terror (GWOT) and are in operation today supporting mission-critical applications.  These systems are in compliance with the new DoD SatCom policy requiring DVB-RCS interoperability for DoD satellite communications.  Having a DVB-RCS VSAT system in place, the DoD has proven to the military that open-architecture VSAT technology can be fielded successfully and surpass proprietary satellite solutions. Standardizing on the DVB-RCS open-standards waveform allows the military to avoid the excessive costs associated with previously-fielded proprietary systems.

Moreover, Advantech Satellite Networks' DVB-S2 technology allows a single hub infrastructure to support thousands of concurrently active terminals and transmit up to 80 Mbps on a single 36 MHz transponder - the highest bandwidth efficiency available. The open standards Advantech DVB-RCS hubs can pass data to and from any SatLabs-certified DVB-RCS terminal promoting real interoperability while offering the highest performance SatCom solutions on the market today.

And because this is open-architecture, Advantech’s DVB-RCS hubs can pass data to and from any SatLabs-certified DVB-RCS terminal promoting real interoperability while offering the highest performance SatCom solutions on the market today.
