DVB-RCS Return Link Sub-Systems, complete DVB-RCS hubs and end-to-end systems support to design and/or optimize a complete ground segment architecture (networks of hubs and terminals) are all available from Advantech Satellite Networks. The Return Link Sub-System (RLSS) is a modular sub-system which can be combined with several new or installed IP/DVB broadcast platforms to provide two-way satellite interactive service.

The DVB-RCS Return Link Subsystem (RLSS) is the first commercial satellite system specifically designed for broadband communications. It is optimized for highly asymmetric traffic and multimedia content. The RLSS provides always-on connectivity and bandwidth-on-demand. This optimization and targeted design drives superior performance and maximizes power and bandwidth efficiency, thereby reducing lifetime equipment costs and recurring costs for service providers.

Over a decade of research and development has gone into the DVB-RCS satellite-based broadband ground equipment. The current generation of products took almost three years to bring to market with pilot equipment now installed in Europe since June 2000 and in North America since September, 2000. The Advantech Satellite Networks DVB-RCS hub has at least a 12 month lead on potential competitors in the DVB-RCS RLSS business. This lead translates into unparalleled implementation, experience and product maturity.

SpaceBridge Logo SpaceBridge offers a range of SCPC and RCS systems to meet the requirements of the network operation. The SpaceBridge system model follows the Pay as you Grow strategy. This strategy enables a service provider to scale their infrastructure costs with the size of their operational network. A key element of this strategy is a user terminal that can be migrated from SCPC to DVB RCS via software configuration.
